Our next moment comes from the Salford Community Leisure who are holding a Stick Man Inspired Family Event at Eccles Library from 10am-12pm on Monday 24th October . They tell us about their moment which they hope will bring in around 150 participants…
“Activities include a Stickman film screening and a messy clay modelling session to make your own Stickman. You can also use hand held percussion to create rhythms, rhymes and sound effects. You could also win a family ticket to the Stick Man live at The Lowry.
This is part of a series of family arts events, funded by Greater Manchester Strategic Arts Funding and managed by Salford Community Leisure Ltd. These aim to give children and their families with children under 5 years old the chance to take part in a wide range of creative workshops activities within a high-profile event.
Events are themed around Our 1st Lowry Gruffalo, Stick Man and Very Hungry Caterpillar live theatre at The Lowry. Previous events have engaged over 143 children and 106 adults to enjoy 712 participatory arts experiences.
The event will support family bonding and encourage them to get to know other families in their area. Health benefits include improved mood and motivation, reduced isolation and increased community cohesion.”
Quote from participant or staff member:
“This event has been great way to spend a morning with my children trying new arts skills and even performing together.”
A big thank you to Salford Community Leisure for sending us their moment!
